(KZN.RU, February 17). The exhibition “Kazan is my future ...” by Alexander Rodchenko, a famous Russian photographer, dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the author, will open at the National Art Gallery "Hazine".
Almost 15 years of Rodchenko’s life associated with our city. Here, he decided to become an artist. Kazan period contained in itself all the important events that have contributed to his creative development: study at the Kazan Art School, at the workshop of N. Feshin, and fateful meeting in school with Varvara Stepanova, a future companion and wife, one of the famous “Amazons’ of the Russian avant-garde.
The anniversary exhibition presents materials, related to the early Kazan creativity period of A. Rodchenko and works by V. Stepanova. Most of the exhibits will be shown for the first time. There are documentary photographs of 1910-1920-ies., archival documents, prints, autographs, works of A. Rodchenko and other authors of the time, revealing the features of his creative development and interaction.
For the first time, visitors will see works of A. Rodchenko and V. Stepanova from the funds of the Museum of Fine Arts of the RT, presented by A. Lavrentiev, grandson of the famous pair, as a gift to the museum in 2016.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on February 21 at 16.00, reports the press-service of the museum.
